Due to challenges in rolling out M365/Teams to special use cases, the SDO Mattermost application will remain in operation through 2022.
Leidos Collaboration Tools
All –
With the transition to Microsoft Teams, as the default Leidos collaboration tool, SecDevOps will be retiring the Mattermost application at the end of 2022.
Why?
- Teams provides the same functionalities that most SDO customers use
- Persistent chat
- Direct messages
- Public (team) and private channels
- Team/channel member control
- Post/distribute documentation/files
- Emojis
- All US employees that have a Leidos mailbox will have access to Teams
- This eliminates the provisioning request for each new user
- Greater flexibility in managing team members
- Additional functionality not provided in Mattermost
- Skype-like functionality (i.e. calls, meetings, etc.)
- Integration with other MS365 tools
- Dedicated SharePoint workspace for each provisioned team
- Enable cross-collaboration with the broader Leidos Community on a common platform
When?
- December 2022
- Recommend beginning the transition as soon as your team has access to MS Teams
