You would use these instructions if you wish to customize your Jira Workflow for your project.
Step-by-step guide
- Go to Project Settings → Workflows and select your project workflow. If you see a blue edit button in the upper right portion of the workflow screen, you may edit your workflow immediately. There are some Atlassian articles at the bottom of this page that are great resources.
- If you do not have edit capabilities, go to the SecDevOps Service Desk and submit a request for Customization.
- Complete the form as shown below
- If you have requested one or more custom status values, please indicate the status category (To Do, In Progress, Done) for each status submitted.
- If you have a sample image/graphic of the desired workflow, please add it as an attachment before creating the ticket.
To prevent back-and-forth communications, be sure you have provided enough information in your request so the Service Desk Team can begin working immediately.
Example Descriptions:
Please copy the existing Workflow for my project.
Please create a new workflow based on the attachment. I have listed each status, status category, and transition for the Workflow. I have also included any validation or post-functions for the Workflow.
Please create a new screen with the following fields. I have listed each custom field, field type, options or default value.
Please create the following custom fields. I have included the field name, field type, options (for checkboxes, radio buttons, or select lists), and default values (if needed).
- Complete the form as shown below
Once the ticket has been completed by the Service Desk Team, you should have access to the Edit button on the Project Settings→Workflows page.
